Trust Bank Gives to Basse Police Station
06/27/2012 13:14Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Yusupha Gomez, the Trust Bank branch manager in Bassesaid the gesture is part of their top development agenda to complement the efforts of the security personnel, noting that the services they are rendering to the communities in the area are of paramount importance.
“If you see people are sleeping and business is going well, it is because of the peace and prosperity that the Gambian populace are enjoying, and therefore we bankers cannot operate without the help of the security personel. Indeed anything that can help them to redouble their efforts in making the country free from all kinds of crime is part of our objectives,” he stated.
He said Trust Bank being a Gambian-owned bank, participating in the development process of the country in the attainment of Vision 2020 blueprint and the PAGE national document is among their top priorities. He stressed that the government of The Gambia cannot do it all and urged all partners to complement government’s efforts in ensuring that they achieve their development aspirations as a nation.
For his part, Abba Colley ofthe Basse Police Station described the gesture as timely and commended the donors for complementing government’s efforts.He stated that the peace and security of the country will never be compromised, as all efforts are in place to ensure that the country remains peaceful.
“Our efforts to make the country free from all forms of crime requires the partnership and commitment of everybody and stakeholders as the police alone cannot do it all,” he said. He then assured the donors that the items will be put into good use.
The SO of Basse Police Station, ASP Ebou Badjie also commended Trust Bank for the assistance, while urging others to emulate the bank .
